Online betting operator Dafabet has inked a new title sponsorship deal with the Welsh Premier League (WPL).
Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed but WPL league secretary Gwyn Derfel called it the biggest commercial pact in WPL history. Derfel claimed Dafabet’s “increasing portfolio of partnerships with major players in the sporting world show the company’s faith in our ever improving product.”
Dafabet, which replaces Corbett Sports as the WPL’s headline sponsor, inked a shirt deal with English Premier League side Sunderland AFC last week, which followed a similarly visible pact with Blackburn Rovers in May. Dafabet marketing chief John Cruces said his group’s ongoing sponsorship push “made sense for us to explore the opportunity to make an impact in Welsh football.”
