And every day, we see and hear this message in advertisements on the radio, on television, even on billboards and buses. But what many people may not realize is that as a result of the five-month state budget impasse, many homecare agencies, a lifeline for seniors in need of assistance to remain in their homes, have not received funding from the state’s Lottery revenues since July 1. These funds are used to help pay for these vital homecare services, which include assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing and dressing, as well as adult day services, senior centers and meal delivery at home.
