Treasurer Deb Goldberg: Baker budget cuts will hurt Lottery games

State Treasurer Deb Goldberg said budget cuts by Gov. Charlie Baker will stifle state Lottery plans to put out new games and will force it to reduce revenue projections as it girds to compete with a new slots parlor opening in Plainville this summer and resort casinos in the years ahead. In an in-studio appearance on Boston Herald Radio “Morning Meeting,” Goldberg said Baker’s $1.7 million reduction to Lottery’s “9c” funds “directly impacted our ability to put out some new games that would have maintained or increased our revneues during this fiscal year.”
