German poker players Pius Heinz and Dietrich Fast hit a nice run of form that sees them take down the Eureka Super High Roller and World Poker Tour L.A Poker Classic Main Event respectively.
Dietrich Fast is the latest poker player to capture a seven-figure top prize after winning the World Poker Tour (WPT) L.A Poker Classic at Commerce Casino.
Fast was the only non-American to take a seat at the final table. He started the action 5/6 in chips. Anthony Spinella was the chip leader. The two clashed early in a hand that saw Fast turn a set of aces, overpowering the flopped two pair of Spinella who ended up exiting in sixth place.
The German’s victory prevented Mike Shariati from winning his second WPT Main Event title of the season. Shariati took down the WPT Legends of Poker for a $675,942 score. His $656,540 consolation prize was his third six-figure score in the past 12-months. He defeated 4,554 players to win the $275,000 first prize in the World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC) event at the Bike in LA. Shariati holds pole position in the WPT Hublot Player of the Year race.
