State's first slots parlor ready to open in Plainville

The predictions of a job and revenue boom versus crime and addiction doom are in the books and now Massachusetts gets a chance to see which will come true. More than three and a half years after the state approved casinos and eight years since the debate over expanded gambling began in earnest, the $225 million Plainridge Park Casino will open its doors Wednesday in the hopes Bay State gamblers will also open their wallets.
