Sweden’s new online gambling licensee ranks have grown by another five operators, including PokerStars’ parent company The Stars Group (TSG).
So far this week, Sweden’s gaming regulatory agency Lotteriinspektionen – soon to be known as Spelinspektionen to better reflect its broader responsibilities – issued five more licenses to operators deemed suitable to function in the new Swedish regulated online gambling market, which officially takes effect on January 1.
The new licensees include TSG subsidiary TSG Interactive PLC, which plans to offer online gaming and sports betting to Swedish punters using domains associated with the company’s PokerStars, Full Tilt and BetStars brands.
Also making the grade are Betclic Everest Group offshoot Expekt Nordics Ltd, which similarly plans both online gaming and betting operations. Ditto for Malta-based operators Betway Group and Tipwin, who plan to operate via their Betway.se and Tipwin.se domains, respectively.
