Dane County deputies and fire departments from Deforest, Marshall, Dane, Vienna, Sun Prairie, Middleton and Arlington responded to the attic fire just after 2:30 a.m. It was at a home on the 7000-block of North Towne Rd. According to a news release from the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, there were people inside the home sleeping when the fire started. The smell of smoke woke them up.

Gary Grief, executive director of the Texas Lottery, says officials with the Multi-State Lottery Association raised the estimated jackpot for Saturday night’s drawing again because of strong sales – but that the $800 million prize could rise again before Saturday’s drawing.

The project is to be a key link on the Camp Chase Trail, part of the 330-mile Ohio-to-Erie Trail linking Cleveland and Cincinnati through Columbus. More than half the project’s cost – $534,650 – will be funded by the West Side Community Fund, set up by Penn National Gaming, which operates Hollywood Casino Columbus, and the city to revitalize the area around the casino.
