In Massachusetts, lottery and casinos vie for gambling cash

The middle-aged Massachusetts State Lottery is nervously looking over its shoulder to see if the state’s newborn casino industry will drain away some of the hundreds of millions it generates in profits each year for local cities and towns. Lottery ticket sold in Kansas worth $9.85 million

A Kansas lottery participant is a multi-millionaire after a ticket matched all numbers in Wednesday night’s Hot Lotto drawing, according to a news release Thursday from lottery officials. The ticket was sold Wednesday in the southeast region of the state, and the winning numbers are 17-23-29-30-33 with a Hot Ball 15. The jackpot is estimated at $9,850,000.

WICKED Sets Lottery Policy for Run at Seattle's Paramount Theatre

A day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of orchestra seats will be held for WICKED, which is returning to The Paramount Theatre with performances from July 8 – August 2. Two and one-half hours prior to each performance, people who present themselves at The Paramount Theatre box office will have their names placed in a lottery drum; thirty minutes later, names will be drawn for a limited number of orchestra seats at $25 each, cash only. This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a limit of two tickets per person.
