Playtech affiliate program Euro Partners withdraws from Canada again
Euro Partners, the primary affiliate program of gambling software provider Playtech, has exited Canada for a second time.
According to a Grizzly Gambling report, Euro Partners’ online casinos will stop accepting players from Canada and also Australia starting May 1, 2016.
The network had already asked its affiliates “to inform people that Canadian players will no longer be accepted in their member casinos,” including Europa Casino, Titan Casino, and Casino Tropez. Euro Partners also warned its players to close their accounts before May 1, “after which time all player accounts will be frozen.”
This isn’t the first time Euro Partners withdrew from the North American country. In November 2013, the flagship Playtech operator sent a ‘Dear John’ letter to the Canadian market, telling players on sites such as Titanbet—Playtech’s sports betting operation—to withdraw their account balances as soon as possible without explaining why they’re leaving, leaving many to speculate that Playtech was concerned Canadian authorities were about to target internationally-licensed operators in Canada.

Human-based artificial intelligence nails 2016 Kentucky Derby Superfecta
An artificial intelligence platform has won the “holy grail” of gambling: the Kentucky Derby Superfecta.
Picking a winning from the 20-horse field at the Kentucky Derby is hard enough as it is, but things can even get a bit more hairy when bettors are asked not only to select the winner but also the second, third and fourth horse to finish the Derby in exact order. In fact, not even the experts polled by SBNation were able to pin the top four winners.
But there’s one entity—an artificial intelligence, natch—was able to get it right.
UNU, a human-based AI, accurately predicted the first, second, third and fourth horses in the Derby, prompting its inventor Louis Rosenberg and his team to win $10,842 from a $20 bet (see the official ticket here).

Becky’s Affiliated: Advice for iGaming Affiliates with Roo Wright: Its never too late to start (again)
I’m convinced the twenty year-old iGaming affiliate industry is one of the best in the world and its still thriving. Some of today’s biggest and best affiliates have been working in the industry for over a decade now, including super affiliate Roo Wright, Co-Founder of BingoPort.co.uk and several white label bingo operations.
Wright sold his prospering online bingo business to Gaming Realms in 2014 for 10.5 million pounds and figured it was time to retire. Two years later Wright has found himself back in the iGaming affiliate industry because quite frankly, he just couldn’t stay away.
The drive behind his return was not monetary, rather it was his passion for the industry, the amazing friends he’s made along the way, the chase of search engine rankings and the undeniable fact he is a serial entrepreneur.
What I find most inspiring about Wright’s return is his belief the iGaming affiliate industry is still full of opportunity as opposed to the common notion our industry is saturated, especially in the UK.

Las Vegas Sands pays Nevada regulators $2m to drop license violation claim
Casino operator Las Vegas Sands has agreed to pay Nevada regulators $2m to settle a complaint regarding its failure to abide by the terms of its gaming license.
Last month, Sands paid $9m to get the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to drop its probe into Sands’ funneling of millions of dollars to a Chinese consultant for extremely murky purposes. On Wednesday, the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) filed its own complaint against Sands over questionable transactions.
The NGCB issued a statement saying Sands was facing two counts of violating the terms of its Nevada gaming license. In addition to the Chinese consultant payments, the complaint also involves Sands’ 2013 non-prosecution deal with the US Department of Justice over Sands’ dealings with a casino high-roller who allegedly moonlighted as a methamphetamine supplier.
Despite having just filed its complaint on Wednesday, the NGCB said it had already reached a settlement under which Sands will pay a fine of $2m in exchange for neither admitting nor denying the NGCB’s allegations. The settlement needs to be confirmed by the Nevada Gaming Commission at its next meeting on May 19.
