If you’re a fan of giant clams, then don’t eat the ones farmed near the Marshall Islands. Recent reports suggest they contain high levels of radiation.
The Marshall Islands were rocked between 1946 and 1958 as the U.S pummelled the area with nuclear devices. In the 1970s, the U.S government agreed to clean up the area, and they contained the contamination from the fallout in a 377-foot-wide crater known locally as ‘The Tomb.’
The locals are concerned ‘The Tomb’ has sprung a leak. However, government officials believe the radiated clams are a direct result of the nuclear waste left behind from the tests in the 1940s and 50s, and not from ‘The Tomb.’

Nevada casinos suffer fourth straight month of falling revenue
Nevada casino gaming revenue took another step back in the month of April as gamblers treated the state’s table games like they were ATMs.
Official figures released Wednesday by the Nevada Gaming Control Board showed total statewide casino gaming revenue hitting $936.5m in April, a 1.8% decline from the same month last year and around $87m less than the previous month’s result. This marks the fourth straight month — so, every month this year so far — that the state’s gaming revenue has endured a year-on-year fall.
The decline was more pronounced on the Las Vegas Strip, where gaming revenue was down 3.5% to $481.8m. Most of Clark County was also in the red, although downtown Vegas improved 2.1% to $61.8m.
Statewide, slots revenue was almost perfectly flat year-on-year, falling a mere 0.02% to $658.8m. The ‘table, counter and card games’ category was dealt a tougher hand, falling 5.8% to $277.7m.

The World Poker Tour heads to Oz for WPT Australia
The World Poker Tour heads to Australia for the first time with the coordinates for The Star Gold Coast typed into its GPS.
If you’re the type of person who refuses to wear makeup because of the chemicals, thinks a yeast infection is akin to developing bubonic plague, and turn the Internet router off nightly, afraid that wi-fi will give you cancer of the brain then you’d better give Australia’s Gold Coast a miss.
Gold Coast leaders want to turn their home into the leading digital city by 2021, and to kickstart the revolution, they are implanting the vastest LoRaWAN network in Australia, with more than 600,000 sensors and real-time management tools prime to make your decisions for you.
I turn my router off at night, but the folks at the World Poker Tour (WPT) aren’t worried about brain cancer type things. For the first time in the tour’s illustrious history, they are setting sail for Australia, and the Gold Coast will be their home.
Warriors road favorites in Game 1 of NBA Finals
The Golden State Warriors have reached a fifth straight NBA Finals, something only the Boston Celtics franchise also has accomplished, as the Dubs look for a fourth title in that span. The Toronto Raptors, meanwhile, are in their first-ever Finals, and they are 1-point home underdogs on the betting line for Game 1 on Thursday night. It’s the first-ever NBA Finals game played outside of the United States.
Odds courtesy of OddsShark.com
The Raptors swept the Warriors in the regular season. The one in Toronto went to overtime, and Golden State was without both Steph Curry and Draymond Green. Meanwhile, the Dinos won by 20 in Oakland and they didn’t have superstar Kawhi Leonard in that one. Toronto never faced DeMarcus Cousins in the season series and the Warriors never faced Marc Gasol as a member of the Raptors. Actually, Toronto was 10-0 against the Warriors’ Pacific Division, the only team in the NBA this year to sweep another division.
This series could be the last in a Toronto uniform for Leonard as well as in a Warriors uniform for Kevin Durant. Both are free agents this summer and many believe both will leave – Durant to the New York Knicks and Leonard to his hometown Los Angeles Clippers. Although, one team winning an NBA title certainly may help convince one of those superstars to stay.

3 Barrels: Oregon piracy update; Tony G on his bike; Perkins $100m idea
We learn the name of the Oregon poker player embroiled in a piracy scandal, how Tony G lost his bid to remain a Member of European Parliament, and how Bill Perkins intends to run a live tournament with a guarantee of $100m.
The wonderfully named Talon White has emerged as the poker player at the centre of an Oregon video piracy scandal. As previously declared, White has seen more than $4m in cash/cryptocurrency and a $336,000 Oregon home vanish like a dry martini with a twist in the hands of a young Keith Richards.
Despite my posturing at the time, the madness of a novelist, painter or dog walker paying to download a movie or TV show in this day and age it seems it’s a lucrative business (if you don’t get caught). Poker’s Sherlock Holmes, Haley Hintze (it seems a better choice than Miss Marple), discovered that as part of the investigation, the Feds seized the following amounts in Chase Bank Accounts for a company called Viral Sensations Inc.

Lebanon’s Casino du Liban plans online gambling (again)
Lebanon’s only legal casino operator is planning to launch an online gambling service, although this isn’t the first time the casino has made this promise.
On Wednesday, the Daily Star quoted Roland Khoury, chairman of Lebanon’s Casino du Liban, saying the casino was “making all the preparations to set up the online gambling site in six months.” Khoury claimed the plan, which involves both casino games and sports betting, was fully supported by Lebanon’s government.
For the record, Casino du Liban launched a tender for an online gambling technology partner way back in January 2017. However, in-fighting among local politicians over who gets to oversee online gambling has prevented passage of the necesesary legislation.
Khoury said the Lebanese government would “block the rest of the online gambling sites” once Casino du Liban’s site was up and running. That’s also something of a redundant claim, as the government has been taking steps to protect its casino monopoly from international online interlopers for the better part of a decade (although these efforts, similar to other ban-happy jurisdictions, have proven porous).
3 Barrels: Ivey baccarat deets; Ace of Spades top song; Binnion TV series
More details emerge in the Phil Ivey Borgata baccarat brouhaha, Benny Binion may be getting a TV series, and the poker community honour Motörhead’s ‘The Ace of Spades’.
As Phil Ivey checks into his bank account to see how many Masterclass subscriptions are coming his way, more news has emerged from his legal battle with The Borgata in Atlantic City.
The source is John Brennan over at USBets, who has been paying acute attention as lawyers working for the Borgata try to convince The U.S. Third Circuit District Court to uphold its decision ordering Ivey to pay the casino $10m.
That’s the approximate sum that Ivey, and his baccarat tag team partner, Cheung Yin Sun, won from the Borgata during four visits circa 2012, and the pine needle fresh information centres on Sun.
Becky’s Affiliated: Intersection of iGaming & blockchain stronger than ever
As our founder Calvin Ayre has stated again and again, there is a natural synergy between the online gambling industry and Bitcoin. But you don’t have to take it from just him, there are so many others who feel the exact same way, and I had the pleasure of interviewing a number of them at last week’s Malta AI and Blockchain Summit Spring Addition.
In this very moment as I write, I’m flying to Canada to cover CoinGeek Toronto and I encourage you to review CoinGeek’s coverage and interviews from the event, as all the content will be applicable to the iGaming industry. I also encourage you to review CoinGeek’s coverage from the Malta AI and Blockchain Summit, an ideal location for nurturing the crossover of iGaming and blockchain, my two favorite industries in the world.
It all started with a simple Facebook post of mine, asking for iGaming professionals who would be attending the Malta Summit as I wished to speak with them about their interest in blockchain. This particular post exploded with responses and organizer guru Eman Pulis (who, in fact, comes from an iGaming background as I do) pitched in by tagging iGaming professionals he knew would be in attendance.
One of those professionals was Angelo Dalli: “I think that the crypto space and the blockchain space is becoming more accessible for everyone, rather than just geeks,” Dalli, founder of iGaming platform Bit8 and Umnai, told CoinGeek.com at the Malta Summit.
